Newman is governed by a Board of Governors, comprised primarily of current parents along with the Head of School and representatives from faculty, administration and alumni. In addition to establishing the School's mission, values, and purpose and for setting policies to accomplish them, it is accountable for the financial well-being of the School, including capital assets, the operating budgets, fundraising and endowment. The Board also selects and hires the Head of School. The Head of School and administration are charged with the responsibility for executing the School's mission and for carrying out the policies established by the Board.
