To be assured of timely processing, applications should be submitted as early in the fall as possible. Child should be 4 by August 31, 2008, for Pre-K, and 5 by August 31, 2008, for K.
- Application - $35.00 fee (non-refundable).
- Teacher recommendation from current school. (Teacher recommendation form will be sent directly to the school by Newman).
- Developmental screen scheduled by Newman - $40.00 fee.
- Observation at current school – Children not in school setting may be asked to visit our pre-k for a morning.
FIRST & SECOND GRADES:
- Application - $35.00 fee (non-refundable).
- School records and teacher recommendation from current school. (Teacher recommendation form will be sent directly to the school by Newman.)
- Admission testing scheduled by Newman or other ISAS school. Fee for Newman testing is $40.00 payable with application. ISAS schools will share testing results at your request.
- Intellectual Assessment administered by a child psychologist - list of recommended psychologists. Fees vary.
THIRD & FOURTH GRADES:
- Application - $35.00 fee (non-refundable).
- School records and teacher recommendation from current school. (Teacher recommendation form will be sent directly to the school by Newman.)
- Admission testing – Saturday, December 1, 2007, or Saturday, January 12, 2008 - $40.00 fee payable with application. ISAS schools will share testing results at your request. After January 12th, admission testing may be arranged through Newman's Admission Office.

- Classroom visit.
FIFTH -- TWELFTH GRADES:
- Application - $35.00 fee (non-refundable).
- Transcript and teacher recommendation(s) from current school. (Teacher recommendation forms will be sent directly to the school by Newman.)
- Admission testing - Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) - Saturday, December 1, 2007 (registration deadline: Nov. 10, 2007), or Saturday, January 12, 2008 (registration deadline: Dec. 22, 2007). There will be a $78.00 fee payable to Educational Records Bureau at time of test registration. This fee is not to be paid to Newman School. You may register on-line at: www.erbtest.org, or you can register by mail with a registration form that will be provided at your request to Newman’s Admission Office, 504-896-6323. ISAS schools will share testing results at your request. After January 12th, admission testing maybe arranged through Newman's Admission Office.
