The Theater Department at Newman offers acting classes in grades 6 through 12. The classes emphasize improvisation, theater games, monologues, plays written in small groups and performed in class, and short scenes from published plays. In addition, any student in grades 5 through 12 can audition for the fall musical. There is also an opportunity for interested students in MS and US to take a theater tech course. Students in the course design and build the sets for school productions and learn lighting and sound to run the school productions.
