In an effort to meet the needs of both the school community and the New Orleans community, Newman offers several auxiliary programs. The Greenie House is a child care center originally developed to provide a service to the School’s faculty. The center is currently open to faculty and staff first and where space permits, the general public. Our Extended Day program is available to Newman lower school students at the conclusion of all full days of school.
Newman’s Summer Session offers enrichment classes for students at all grade levels as well as credit courses for Upper School students. The program is staffed by Newman teachers and community members and is open to the general public on a first-come, first served basis.
Summerbridge New Orleans is a Breakthrough Collaborative program whose mission is to prepare rising 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students from the general community for academically rigorous educational experiences and to inspire high school and college students to enter the field of education or, at the very least, become advocates for educational equity.
