The Pioneer
Newman's literary journal, Pioneer, was first published in 1911. It is the oldest continually published high school literary journal in Louisiana. When it was first published, it served as newspaper, yearbook, and literary journal and was published nine to twelve times a year. Currently, Pioneer is published each winter and spring. It contains poetry, memoirs, short stories, photographs, and original artwork from students and faculty.

Newman's yearbook, published each spring, honors the people, records the activities, and showcases the special events that occured in the School throughout the year.
The Newman Scholar
The Newman Scholar is a publication of the English Department and contains the personal and analytical essays of Upper School students. It showcases the work that English students regularly do in their classes and serves as a model for developing writers.
