Mission
Our mission is to provide a safe, loving environment for every child celebrating the spirit and fostering the natural desire to learn.

Philosophy
We believe children are born with an inherent desire to learn and learn best in a place where they feel safe and supported socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically.

Program
The Newman Early Education Center is a coeducational early childhood program that is a part of Isidore Newman School located in Uptown New Orleans. It enrolls children six weeks to four years. The infant program (six weeks to 18 months) is reserved primarily for the children of Newman faculty and staff while the preschool program (eighteen months to four years) serves the entire New Orleans community. The program is open August-May five days a week, 7:30-4:30 with extended care offered until 5:30.

Curriculum
The Newman Early Education Program is inspired by the preschools of Reggio Emilia, the best practices established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children , the framework of Creative Curriculum and the Newman School motto, “We learn to do by doing.”

In a caring and supportive environment we encourage exploration, nurture the spirit and cultivate a sense of wonder. Children grow in self confidence, compassion for others, and respect for the world around them, while gaining a strong foundation for future learning. The experience is designed to meet the needs of young children and is fostered by a loving, knowledgeable faculty that enjoys and respects children, and values its partnerships with families.
