Dear Newman Parents,
It seems as if summer has just begun, but we are well on our way to opening day (August 26) at Newman, and the Newman Parents Association (NPA) is already planning for the upcoming year. Welcome back to our returning families and a warm welcome to our new families! The Newman Community is excited to have you as part of this wonderful institution, and the Newman Parents Association is excited to connect with all of you.
NPA looks forward to another active year at Newman. As a parent of a Newman student, you are automatically a member of the Newman Parents Association (NPA). We provide hundreds of volunteers who donate valuable time to enrich the lives of our children and the school. NPA staffs more than 20 committees. We have over 100 board member volunteers.
We not only want you to volunteer, we need you! If you can find the time, we can find a job during or after-school hours. We need leaders and worker-bees: people who love books, sports or cooking; people who can crunch numbers; people who enjoy working with others on our parent fundraiser, N’Spiration or at our concessions stand during one of our six home football games; or people who enjoy working behind the scenes or volunteering from home. We welcome working and non-working parents, moms and dads alike.
Check out all of the rewarding volunteer opportunities listed on the website. Once you view the Volunteer Opportunities, sign up online by clicking the Parent Volunteer Form.
We also look forward to seeing you at our NPA meetings. It’s a great way to connect with other parents and learn the latest happenings at Newman. Our headmaster, T.J. Locke; our division heads, Lolly Hand, Philip Wallace and Penny Evins; our Athletic Director, Billy Fitzgerald or our Arts Director, Paul Tines may drop by to keep us up to date on academics and daily life at Newman. You will always s learn something new!
So enjoy the rest of your summer, and we’ll see you at the Back to School Celebration on August 27.
