Middle School Summer Reading Champs 9/28/2007 Every middle schooler had to read five books this summer, but some students spent the hot, class-free months with their noses buried in books. Prizes – gift certificates to Maple Street Books – were awarded to the summer’s most passionate readers at the Middle School assembly on September 25. Parth Thaker, in the 8th grade, won first place by reading an astounding 83 books. Seventh-grader Dominic Lloyd was in second place with 33 books; his sister, Savannah Lloyd, an 8th-grader, and Bizzy Margolin in the 7th grade tied for third place by each reading 32 books. Theo Schmidt-Sommerfeld in the 7th grade read 26 books for fourth place. Seventh-grader Allen Zhang read 20 books; Jada Hawkins, 8th grade, and Spencer Stanley, 7th grade, each read 19 books.
