Music

Newman has a comprehensive and experiential music curriculum which begins in Green Trees with basic exploration of tones and rhythms and culminates in Upper School with signature performances and competitions. Choral singing and instrumental music instruction begins in Lower School. From Pre-K through 3rd grade students explore general music and at the end of 3rd grade they have the choice to focus in Band or Choir through 12th grade. This allows them to truly hone their craft over nine years of focused study. Band and choral students are exposed to a wide variety of music literature including pop and classical music. Newman has award-winning band, choir, and percussion ensembles.
