We have completed our first round of admission for the fall of 2021-22 school year. We welcome additional applications, but at this time all new applicants will be placed in our wait pool.
Jenny Flinn, Director of Green Trees
Since we first opened our doors in 2015, Green Trees has always been a warm and welcoming “village” for early education. It is a community that believes children have a right to high quality care and education that supports their development.
Green Trees teachers are deeply aware of children’s potential and understand that they are creating learning pathways that will carry a child through a lifetime of learning. Through our social constructivist approach, Green Trees teachers engage in facilitative interaction that involves listening and observing children carefully. The teachers invite exploration, experimentation, and problem solving through provocations and a rich environment where the child’s work can take place with respect and joy. The continuous dialog between teachers and children informs the work being done as well as prepares them for the next steps in learning.
Green Trees is guided by the “Three Cs” of community, connection, and constant learning. Hence, parents are offered abundant opportunities to build strong relationships with teachers and meet other families. Opportunities to deepen our relationships include holding home visits during summer break, serving as a room parent, participating in bi-annual progress conferences, attending Parents’ Night, and attending or volunteering during Harvest Fest and the Week of the Young Child. Parents are invited to learn more about Green Trees during the fall Curriculum Coffees or engage with experts and other parents at workshops focusing on developmental stages or timely topics for modern-day parents.
We encourage you to schedule a visit and learn more about Green Trees.
