The Newman Way is the Lower School character education program, which emphasizes Newman’s
Core Values of honesty, kindness, respect, and responsibility. With these values as our guide, we strive toward excellence in our individual character, care for our community, and in our academic and extracurricular work. Every day in Lower School, we celebrate the ways, small and large, in which our students, faculty, and community members live and learn the Newman Way.
In 2011, the Center for Spiritual and Ethical Education (CSEE), an organization that dedicates its resources and influence to the moral development of students in independent schools, recognized the Newman Way as a leading character education program nationally.
