A Haunted Halloween at Newman

R. Hibbert
[FULL STORY]

Ghosts and goblins were walking the halls of Newman on Halloween this year. From the spooky and scary to the downright silly, Newman students, as well as several faculty members, dressed up to boost school spirit with some holiday fun. Read on the see the best costumes and activities in the School.

The Lower School held a Halloween Parade to let the youngest Greenies show of their costumes. Parents and 2nd-5th graders lined Lupin Field to cheer on the parading Pre-K, kindergarten, and 1st grade children. Click here for to view the photo album, slideshow, and downloadable pictures.

The Middle School took their show to the Valmont courtyard for a Halloween costume contest. Zombies trudged, “cereal killers” stalked their vitamin-fortified prey, a quartet of nerds adjusted their broken glasses, and the entire KISS band (accompanied by a roadie) mobbed the courtyard. The costumes were judged in a variety of categories, such as Most Frightful, Most New Orleans, and Best Group. Click here for to view the photo album, slideshow, and downloadable pictures.

Upper schoolers dressed up to earn PEP points (the class with the most points wins a Splash Day). At lunch, the seniors bobbed for apples and showed off their costumes on the Valmont courtyard. An unofficial report by one senior said that 85 percent of the seniors came to school in costume! Click here for to view the photo album, slideshow, and downloadable pictures.
