A special documentary featuring Newman Varsity Football team premieres Friday night and runs through April. Below is the official announcement from the filmmakers…
Glory Days (debuting on Cox Sports TV) follows the 2017 season of the record-setting Newman Greenies. It is narrated by Emmy and Peabody Award-winnning journalist Lee Zurik '92.
Known as the school that produced three Manning brothers and Odell Beckham, Jr., Glory Days takes viewers inside the program on Jefferson Avenue and follows the team as they attempt to win their first ever football State Championship.
The Greenies go on a run with 11 straight victories to start the season. The Greenies avenge losses to Country Day and Riverside to win their district for the first time since 2006. They beat the defending State Champion Riverside Rebels for the first time in six years. The Greenies earned their first 10-0 regular season since 1993, when Peyton Manning was the Nation’s Top Recruit.
