[FULL STORY]
While most of us were resting on during Mardi Gras Break last Friday, Michael Brown ’17 was breaking a Newman Track record. While competing in the Elder Outreach Griffin Relays in Dutchtown, Louisiana, Brown broke the record for the 1600-meter, which has stood for more than 30 years. With a time of 4:23.5, Brown beat the standing record of 4:24.6 held by Wade Wootan ’85, set in 1985. Now that he has the 1600-meter record under his belt, Browne plans to concentrate on toppling the times for the 800-meter and the 3200-meter races. Please join us in congratulating Michael on his accomplishment. We look forward to seeing his continued excellence in upcoming track meets.
