Learning at Green Trees

Green Trees is an inter-disciplinary program blending the best teaching methods and philosophies from the top early childhood programs in the country. Green Trees curriculum is guided by the vision of children as scientists and researchers within a highly engaging learning environment. Through an inquiry-based project approach with child-directed topics of study, teachers intentionally plan an environment infused with experiences that promote critical thinking and problem-solving in our youngest learners. The cycle of inquiry – critical thinking, collaboration, and communication – underpins all of the work that we do with young children.

Our core curriculum is enhanced by experiences in the visual arts and physical expression. In the Green Trees Art Studio, children are invited to prototype and construct representations of learning from interesting project study themes. Music and Movement allow our Greenies to express emotion or further investigate project themes with their bodies. Throughout the day, Green Trees children deepen the roots of character through exposure to targeted social-emotional lessons that build self-regulation and emotional literacy.

Parent Education

The branches of Green Trees reach far into the New Orleans community of parents and early childhood educators. We provide a community learning space for parents with seminars and workshops on various topics related to early childhood development and parenting.
