Nationwide, there are a small number of full-tuition scholarships at particular colleges and universities for which students are nominated by their schools. Each year, Newman’s seniors are given the opportunity to compete for the school’s nominations for these scholarships. Some scholarship programs allow only one nomination per school, while others permit multiple nominations. This year, Newman will nominate Nathaniel Adams, Peter Butler, Maddie Heller, Daniel Hereford, Vik Induru, Shivani Jani, and Geoffrey Liu for the Danforth Scholarship at Washington University in St. Louis; Peter Butler, Vik Induru, and Geoffrey Liu for the Emory Scholarship at Emory University; Daniel Hereford for the Bryan Scholarship at Davidson College; Sean McGoey for the Hesburgh-Yusko Scholarship at the University of Notre Dame; and Tom Wolf for both the Jefferson Scholarship at University of Virginia and the Morehead-Cain Scholarship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
