Gallery Exhibition: George Dunbar

R. Hibbert
April 20 through May 27, we will be exhibiting the work of George Dunbar in the Reynolds Ryan Art Gallery. Born in New Orleans and currently residing in Slidell, George Dunbar has been making art in the New Orleans area for more than 50 years. Please stop by the Reynolds Ryan Art Gallery to view his work during normal gallery hours, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. We will be hosting an art opening and reception on Tuesday April 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., which will include remarks by Artist-in-residence George Dunbar.

The Exhibit is in association with the Donna Perret Rosen Artist-in-Residence Program at Isidore Newman. Intended to greatly enrich our students’ understanding of and appreciation for the visual arts, the Program brings a recognized artist to Isidore Newman School to teach, lecture and exhibit his or her original work. The artist conducts workshops and one-on-one sessions with students, offering them perhaps their ?rst chance to get to know someone who makes a living as an artist. Ben Rosen ’50 established the fellowship in honor of his wife Donna. Prior to her move to New York City, Donna played a large role in shaping the New Orleans art scene as a patron of the arts and the director of the Galerie Simonne Stern.
