Get to Know the Greenie House

R. Hibbert
[FULL STORY]

The Greenie House (Newman’s on-campus early childhood center) is off to a great start. This year, it opened its doors to fifty-three children, ages 3 months to 4 years. While enrollment is full, we are always looking to expand.

The Greenie House Program is inspired by the preschools of Reggio Emilia, the best practices established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the framework of Creative Curriculum and the Newman School motto, “We learn to do by doing.”

In a caring and supportive environment the Greenie House encourages exploration, nurturing the spirit and cultivating a sense of wonder. Children’s self-confidence grows, the develop compassion for others, and respect for the world around them, while gaining a strong foundation for future learning. The experience is designed to meet the needs of young children and is fostered by a loving, knowledgeable faculty that enjoys and respects children, and values their partnerships with families.
