[FULL STORY]
The Middle School Boys Basketball team has showed its can-do attitude for a fourth year in a row, collecting heaps of nonperishable food for the Kenner Food Bank. Aiming high, the team hoped to have 1,000 cans and other nonperishable, packaged food items to replenish the shelves at the Kenner Food Bank. On February 14, the guys loaded up a school bus with 980 items, when a last-minute, 20-can donation rolled in. Swish!
The middle schoolers put their athleticism to the test, moving the massive mound of donated food to the bus and carting it to Kenner. Once there, they could see that the food was in demand, as the Food Bank’s shelves were nearly bare. The team has organized and executed four such food drives in total, donating about four thousand cans and other items to the food bank. That is literally tons of help!
Thanks to the boys team, Mr. Jackman, who helped organize the drive, and everyone who donated food.
