Newman Debate Update - Acadiana High School

This coming weekend, the team will compete a little closer to home. We are at Ben Franklin HS on Friday and Saturday.

The debate team traveled to Lafayette to compete at Acadiana High School. We enjoyed the following results:
Matthew Meyer reached the semi-finals in the varsity division of Extemporaneous Speaking
Tiffen McAlister placed fourth in the varsity division of Extemporaneous Speaking
Matthew and Tiffen also were named co-champions of the varsity division of Lincoln-Douglas debate. Both reached the final round, making it unnecessary to debate.
Sarah Cohen placed second in the junior varsity division of Extemporaneous Speaking. Sarah is now qualified for the state tournament.
