  • Students Compete in City-Wide French Oratory Contest

    Two Newman students won honors in the in the annual city-wide French Oratory Contest, hosted by the Council of French Societies. The yearly contest rates French students on their oratorical ability, fluency, conversational skills, and understanding of the French language. Over 100 students from the metro-New Orleans area competed this year.

    Newman’s First Sleep-Out Was an Overnight Success

    Newman students chose a good way to fund a great cause with the first annual Sleep-Out for Covenant House.     The Newman Swim team traveled to Sulphur, Louisiana on Wednesday and Thursday to participate in the LHSAA State Championship Swimming Tournament. The Boys team finished in first place to take home the State title for the fourth consecutive year.
