Andrew Elkins Day | Mondo Bizarro Productions

E. Bomersback
Newman welcomed Mondo Bizarro Productions to campus this week in celebration of Andrew Elkins Day. Mondo Bizarro shared components of their most recent project, Invisible Rivers, with students from Newman’s Lower through Upper School. Throughout the day Greenies learned about the importance of the Mississippi River, Louisiana’s coastline and culture, and the power of visual art and storytelling to propel change.

Mondo Bizarro shared that South Louisiana is losing land at one of the fastest rates on the planets. With that, they urged students to think about not only the river but our geographic location in a renewed way. "The Mississippi River really is dynamic. We live in this magical place, between salt and fresh – the river is a vein. It’s a life force," Mondo Bizarro creatives shared.

Mondo Bizarro concluded their opening remarks with the following- "We give gratitude to Andrew for the way his spirit continues to connect people. It's further proof that we often do now know how what we're doing now, how what we're living in this present moment, may ripple out and impact others in the future."
